Robert (Bob) E. Campbell is a great study in self-reliance and a serial entrepreneur in every sense of the word.
Except for when he was working for all of us as a Naval Air Traffic Controller, he knew he would always find a way to chart his own course. After studying as a business major at Delaware Valley College, Bob graduated from the Aetna Insurance Institute in New England.
He's come a long way since starting his business with an empty metal box on his kitchen table. The box was where he stored his index cards containing all the information he had on his prospects.
Campbell Agencies Inc. with its long history of local support and community service is just one of the fruts of his early efforts.
Professionally he has been recognized as Insurance Person of the Year for the PA, DE and MD Association and served as Chairman of the Advisory Boards for two of the Insurance Companies his agency represents.
Today one of his other companies imports olive oil from Argentina and distributes it up and down the east coast. Legendary racer, car designer (and chef) Carroll Shelby is a customer and working with Bob to develop his own signature brand of olive oil.
As a Senior Director of Ignite/Stream Energy and one of the first two promoters to introduce the program to Pennsylvania, he is helping hundreds of individuals build their self-confidence and achieve financial independence as they save money for themselves and others on their electric bills.
The Board of Directors of a local bank relies on him as a member as they chart their course through an uncertain economy.
He is a past president of the Central Bucks Chamber of commerce which awarded him their "Lifetime Achievement in Business Award".
Doylestown Hospital was able to expand their state of the art health care facility thanks to the 40 million dollars he helped raise as a member of their Board of Directors.
The world of arts and music have benefitted from his involvement as well.
He helped organize a team to save our national treasures. They helped the documentary "America's First D-Day Washington's Crossing" come to life. The proceeds of this effort will benefit the National Park System.
A local man's dream may soon become a reality due to the funding bob secured to send his play to New York and hopefully a launch shortly on Broadway.
And ini his spare time he flies helicopters and collects cars. Even these recreational pursuits provide ways for him to give back to the community.
He was recognized in national magazines and by the Red Cross for organizing and flying relief missions to Charlestown South Carolina after hurricane Hugo in 1989.
On the grounds of the Campbell Agencies, he built a museum to house his Antique and Classic Car Collection. All donations from visitors are passed on to the Salvation Army to whom the museum is dedicated.
We also provide Classic Car insurance.
